Friends & Visitors
You're Invited to Check Out UCR!
UC Riverside is grateful to be an integral part of the Inland Southern California community. Even if you're not a UC Riverside student or employee, you're still a valued member of our extended family! We invite you to schedule a walking tour of UC Riverside's scenic campus or take advantage of several activities and services we warmly offer to all of our neighbors.
Live Music
UCR has multiple music festivals and concerts throughout the academic year, some open to the public. If you are interested in attending any events you've heard about, just contact the department or program that is hosting the event and inquire about the entry.
Student Recreation Center
UCR Alumni, associates of SRC members or those sponsored by a SRC member are eligible for membership at our 155,000 square-foot Student Recreation Center. It features state-of-the-art weight and cardio equipment, climbing wall, 237,000-gallon swimming pool, fitness/cooking classes and so much more.
UCR Athletics
On game days, the Student Recreation Center is open to the public and is transformed into the home arena for the UCR Highlanders' NCAA Division 1 basketball and volleyball teams and can seat 3,168 raucous fans. We encouraged everyone to attend any of our other spectator sports including baseball, softball or men's soccer and women's soccer. Single-game tickets are no more than $10.
Botanic Gardens
We invite the public to visit the Botanic Gardens at UC Riverside, a living plant museum with 40 hilly acres, four miles of scenic trails and more than 3,500 plant species from around the world for researchers and visitors to study. Many types of tours and events are available to the public.
Campus Recitals
Catch a carillon concert recital by UCR Carillonneur's David Christensen at the 161-foot UCR Bell Tower located in the center of campus. During the academic year, live performances occur weekly on Mondays at noon, with few exceptions. At least once a quarter, weekend performances may be heard.
Science Fiction
The Tomas Rivera Library is home to the famed Eaton Collection and the world's largest cataloged collection of science fiction and fantasy. The annual Eaton Conference brings together noteworthy writers and preeminent experts in science fiction and is open to the public.
Conference and Event Hosting
Let UCR's Hospitality Services help you host your next event on UC Riverside's beautiful campus in a wonderful educational setting. Coordinators will help schedule lodging, meeting facilities, food and beverage service, audio visual, parking arrangements, and more. Services are customized to fit almost any conference size and budget.
Continuing Education
UCR Extension focuses on meeting the educational needs of the community, whether for career advancement, career change, teacher training or general interest. Extension courses are always open to the public and a college degree is not required. Online classes are also available.
